I was born and raised on a Nebraska farm, and attended college for two years, then served five years of active duty in the Navy, and fifteen years as a reservist. I returned to school after active duty, and received my B.A. from the University of Nebraska.
I then attended the Chouinard Art Institute in California, and began selling my work and even doing street shows. I taught classes in my studio for twenty five years. My art was put on hold for a time when I was forced to go back to a 9 to 5 job, but after retiring I jumped back into working full time at art. I now maintain a studio at the Faith Arts Village of Orlando (FAVO), where I continue to work each day.
I am a past president of ANAC (Association of Nebraska Art Clubs), a Signature member of the Gold Coast Watercolor Society, and a Signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society.
I have been honored to receive many notable awards, including:
Best of Show, Miami Watercolor Society
Best of Show, Gold Coast Watercolor Society
2nd. Place, Florida Watercolor Society
